Carrier Data / Carrier Connection / Carrier Network

When someone talks about ‘carrier data’ or a ‘Carrier Network’ they are referencing that they are accessing the internet through a data plan with a mobile carrier, rather than using local WiFi or a cabled connection to the internet. Carrier Networks can be slower than WiFi, and will display different speeds, depending on what is available. 2G/3G/4G and 5G are all descriptions of Carrier Network speeds.
